Dutch ex-minister Van Nieuwenhuizen ignores lobbying ban
By Irene van den Berg, | 4 April, 2023
Former Dutch minister of Infrastructure Cora van Nieuwenhuizen ignored the lobbying ban for contacts with former ministers. This was discovered by documents requested by The Investigative Desk and Follow the Money with a FOIA request.
The documents show that Van Nieuwenhuizen has been in contact with (senior people within) the ministry both by phone and email. She also gets confirmation from officials that input she provides, such as criticism of a proposal to keep energy bills affordable, is taken into account in consultations.
